ChallengeAt the Basel Tattoo, loud music, tightly packed crowds and international visitors make it difficult to communicate emergency announcements clearly. In a dangerous situation, instructions must be conveyed quickly, unambiguously and in a way that the entire audience can understand. High visitor densities also place a strain on the mobile network, meaning mobile communications cannot be relied upon.

directs announcements specifically to individual announcement locations, selected areas or the entire site. This enables emergency announcements to be triggered as needed while reducing the number of separate control devices and the effort required to operate them. Centralised operation reduces material, installation and staffing costs.
meets the requirements of DIN EN 50849 for electroacoustic emergency warning systems. The system was developed specifically for safety-relevant announcements and alerting and is technically designed for both everyday operation and emergency situations. DIN EN 50849 represents the relevant reference framework for ELA systems. Unlike mobile network-based systems, does not depend on any external network and is therefore immediately ready for use at all times — fully meeting the standard as a result. Other standards known from safety technology, such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), do not apply to , as they are not applicable to radio-based public address systems like . is a public address system for temporary and mobile applications and has been used successfully many times for mission-critical communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional partner will advise you on functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively. signals to the conductor, bandleader or DJ via a flashing light that the music must be stopped immediately. In response to the light signal, the performance is paused so that emergency announcements can be understood reliably. Following an interruption, the radio connection is automatically re-established. ![NIKOS [audio]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS audio.svg)
