With NIKOS you rent a mobile announcement system that needs no cables: announcements, warning tones and music reach any number of points on your site via its own digital radio. Existing sound systems on stages or in marquees are integrated; where there is none, battery-powered speakers fill the gap.
NIKOS is suited to city festivals, music festivals, funfairs, parades, sports events and Christmas markets. You rent it through certified NIKOS partners in your region, who deliver, set up, brief your staff and support the system during the event.
All NIKOS partners are trained and certified by RADACOM. Technicians know the system inside out
Short distances, locally experienced technicians. Your partner knows the infrastructure, authorities and conditions in your region
Behind every partner stands RADACOM with technical support – around the clock, even during the event
The scope depends on your site and task – your NIKOS partner puts it together with you.
Select your region on the partner map and send a rental request – or contact RADACOM directly.
Your partner clarifies the site, announcement zones, rental period and existing equipment and prepares a quote.
Exclusively usable frequencies are applied for with the frequency regulator for every deployment – ideally at least four weeks before the event starts.
Delivery, setup and function test, briefing of the operator, support during the event, dismantling.
Yes. NIKOS is built for temporary deployments and is rented out for them, for example for city festivals, music festivals, funfairs, parades and sports events. You rent it through the NIKOS partner in your region, who takes care of planning, delivery, setup and support.
To avoid miscalculations, we do not quote prices here. The equipment required – and therefore the prices for rental and services – depends heavily on the functions to be implemented and the conditions of the individual event. The actual requirement is determined mainly by the size of the area to be covered, whether existing sound systems can be used for announcements, the rental period and the scope of service required.
An operator is always needed for announcements and monitoring. For smaller installations the organiser can provide this person after a briefing; alternatively, a technician from the NIKOS partner takes over as part of a full-service contract.
Ideally at least four weeks before the event starts. Exclusively usable frequencies are applied for with the frequency regulator for every deployment, and careful adaptation to your individual requirements also takes some lead time. If necessary, short-notice deployments are possible, but higher fees then apply for the frequency application.
Yes. NIKOS meets the requirements of DIN EN 50849 (electroacoustic emergency warning systems). NIKOS was developed specifically for safety-related announcement and alerting applications and is technically designed for use in everyday and emergency situations. For electroacoustic emergency warning systems (PA/VA systems), DIN EN 50849 is the relevant reference framework. The requirements it sets out are fully met by NIKOS – unlike mobile-network-based systems – because there is no dependency on a third-party network, so immediate usability is guaranteed at all times. Other standards known from safety technology, such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), do not apply to the deployment area and functional scope of NIKOS and are therefore not relevant for approval purposes. NIKOS is an announcement system for temporary and mobile applications and has been used successfully many times since 2017 to deliver mission-critical communication tasks. RADACOM and your regional NIKOS partner are happy to advise you on the many functions of NIKOS and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively.
Yes, NIKOS works over its own, self-sufficient radio network and completely independently of public communication networks and their availability. This makes the system very resistant to external influences. Because NIKOS does not rely on cabling but communicates via radio, the connection re-establishes itself automatically after an interruption. This makes NIKOS far more resilient to disruptions of normal operation than many other systems, demonstrating the crisis-readiness of this communication system. has an internal battery with up to 16 hours of runtime and also powers connected accessory modules through it. Even if the mobile network is overloaded, the internet provider has been hacked, or someone has pulled the wrong plug, NIKOS keeps working. This means safety announcements and communication at your event remain reliably functional even if the power supply fails or public communication networks are disrupted.
NIKOS is offered, installed and serviced by our regional partners. The system is configured and operational within a short time. No fixed on-site infrastructure is required. The announcement units run on their internal battery for up to 16 hours, independent of an external power supply, making NIKOS ideally suited for temporary and mobile deployments.
Depending on the application, NIKOS combines different functions on a single communication platform. The rental and installation costs of NIKOS are quickly offset by these savings. You can find some concrete examples of savings here.
Consistent use of the wide range of functions often results not only in a higher safety standard and less workload for staff, but also in savings across the overall budget. For safety announcements and other safety-related coordination tasks, separate speaker, control and communication solutions are no longer needed – NIKOS bundles staff alerting, visitor information and system control on one platform. This reduces material requirements, cabling effort and the tripping hazard from cable bridges.
NIKOS can also be used to substitute staff in a targeted way: tasks that would otherwise require several stewarding, reporting or operating posts spread across the site are handled centrally through announcements, remote control and status monitoring from one location – so staff can be saved or deployed more effectively at safety-critical points. The greatest savings potential arises at fenced events (e.g. festivals, corporate events): monitoring emergency exit gates technically with NIKOS means guard posts at emergency exits can be reduced or deployed more effectively elsewhere. Especially for temporary, time-limited events, this significantly reduces the costs of planning, setup and operation of the safety technology.
Use the partner map or the partner list on this page to find the NIKOS partner in your region. All NIKOS partners are RADACOM-certified specialist companies that offer, install and service the system locally – RADACOM additionally supports them with technical support. If no partner is listed in your region yet, please get in touch with RADACOM via our contact page.
We are looking for further partners in various European countries.
