Emergency Announcements for EXPO 2027 Belgrade

autonomous reliable cost-effective

NIKOS is not a conventional PA system, but a radio-based public address, alarm and control system for large events, construction sites and crisis situations, which you can rent by the day through certified partners and either integrate into your PA or use on its own.

Challenge

Clear warnings despite network outages

EXPO 2027 Belgrade will bring together crowds, a noisy environment and visitors with different language skills. High noise levels, large visitor numbers and the geographical scale of the exhibition site make it difficult to communicate warnings and instructions clearly and intelligibly. In an emergency, communicating across the entire site becomes a central challenge for visitor safety.

Solution

One unified solution for everyday use and emergencies

One platform for everything: NIKOS unites visitor information, alerting, crowd management and control in a single, network-independent system. NIKOS [dispatcher]² controls the announcement units for individual announcement locations, designated areas or the entire exhibition site. This enables targeted announcements to be triggered without staff having to walk between locations or operate separate control points, reducing the personnel required for operation.

FAQ

Information for planners and organisers

Do announcements made with NIKOS comply with the applicable standards?+
Yes. NIKOS meets the requirements of DIN EN 50849 (electroacoustic emergency warning systems). NIKOS was developed specifically for safety-relevant public address and alerting applications and is technically designed for use in both everyday and emergency situations. For electroacoustic emergency warning systems, DIN EN 50849 is the relevant reference framework. Unlike mobile network-based systems, NIKOS fully meets the requirements specified therein, as it does not depend on an external network and can therefore be used immediately at any time. Other standards known from safety technology, such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), do not apply to the field of use and functional scope of NIKOS and are therefore not relevant for approval. NIKOS is a public address system for temporary and mobile applications and has been successfully deployed in numerous mission-critical communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional NIKOS partner will be happy to advise you on the wide range of NIKOS functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively.
Do emergency announcements for EXPO 2027 Belgrade remain operational in the event of a power or network failure?+
Yes, NIKOS operates via its own autonomous radio network and is completely independent of public communication networks and their availability. This makes the system highly resistant to external influences. As NIKOS does not rely on cables but communicates via radio, the connection is automatically re-established after an interruption. NIKOS therefore responds far more resiliently to disruptions in normal operation than many other systems, demonstrating the crisis resilience of this communications system. NIKOS [audio]² has an internal battery with up to 16 hours of operating time and also powers connected accessory modules. Even if the mobile network is overloaded, the internet provider has been hacked or someone has unplugged the wrong cable, NIKOS continues to operate. This ensures that emergency announcements for EXPO 2027 Belgrade remain reliably functional even in the event of a power failure or disruptions to public communication networks.
Can NIKOS be installed quickly and flexibly for EXPO 2027 Belgrade?+
Yes, NIKOS was specifically developed for flexible outdoor deployments without permanent infrastructure. One or two people can mount the modules on different structures, such as lampposts, stages, stalls or trees, within just a few minutes and configure them individually. A standard Schuko power connection is sufficient for continuous operation.
Where do cost benefits arise for emergency announcements at EXPO 2027 Belgrade?+
Depending on the application, NIKOS can be used to implement different functions via a single communications platform. These savings can quickly offset the rental and installation costs of NIKOS. You can find some specific examples of potential savings here. When its wide range of functions is used consistently, NIKOS not only increases the level of safety and makes work easier for staff, but often even reduces the overall budget. NIKOS primarily reduces the effort required for separate loudspeaker, control and communication solutions. Less material and cabling are required, while information and emergency announcements can be made from a single location. NIKOS can also selectively replace personnel: tasks that would otherwise require several security, reporting or control posts distributed across the site can be centrally controlled and monitored or performed by NIKOS. This allows staff to be reduced or deployed more effectively at safety-critical points. The greatest savings potential arises at fenced events: monitoring emergency exit gates can be handled through technical gate monitoring with NIKOS, eliminating security posts at emergency exits or allowing them to be deployed more effectively elsewhere. This offsets rental and installation costs through savings in personnel and other technology. Particularly for temporary, time-limited events, this significantly reduces the costs of planning, installing and operating the safety technology.
Where can an emergency announcement system for EXPO 2027 Belgrade be rented?+
