Evacuation Announcements for EXPO 2027 Belgrade

autonomous reliable cost-effective

NIKOS is not a conventional PA system, but a radio-based public address, alarm and control system for large events, construction sites and crisis situations, which you can rent by the day through certified partners and either integrate into your PA or use on its own.

Challenge

Evacuation announcements without public networks

At EXPO 2027 Belgrade, delivering evacuation announcements is a particular challenge due to crowds, noisy surroundings and visitors speaking different languages. Instructions must remain clearly understandable even when visitor density is high and must reach every area. At the same time, power outages or disruptions to public communication networks can impair the reliable transmission of evacuation announcements.

Solution

One unified solution for everyday use and emergencies

Instead of multiple separate solutions: NIKOS unites visitor information, system monitoring, visitor guidance and control in a single network-independent platform. NIKOS [dispatcher]² centrally controls individual announcement locations, specific areas or the entire event site. This means evacuation announcements can be triggered from a single point, reducing the need for distributed control stations and separate control units.

FAQ

Information for planners and organisers

Do announcements made with NIKOS comply with the applicable standards?+
Yes. NIKOS meets the requirements of DIN EN 50849 (electroacoustic emergency warning systems). NIKOS was developed specifically for safety-relevant public address and alerting applications and is technically designed for use in both everyday and emergency situations. For electroacoustic emergency warning systems, DIN EN 50849 is the relevant reference framework. Unlike mobile network-based systems, NIKOS fully meets the requirements specified therein, as it does not depend on an external network and can therefore be used immediately at any time. Other standards known from safety technology, such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), do not apply to the field of use and functional scope of NIKOS and are therefore not relevant for approval. NIKOS is a public address system for temporary and mobile applications and has been successfully deployed in numerous mission-critical communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional NIKOS partner will be happy to advise you on NIKOS’s wide range of functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively.
Do evacuation announcements at EXPO 2027 Belgrade remain operational in the event of a power or network outage?+
Yes. NIKOS operates via its own autonomous radio network and is completely independent of public communication networks and their availability. This makes the system highly resistant to external influences. As NIKOS does not depend on cable connections but communicates via radio, the connection is automatically re-established after an interruption. NIKOS [audio]² has an internal battery with a runtime of up to 16 hours and also powers connected accessory modules. This means that evacuation announcements for EXPO 2027 Belgrade remain reliably operational even in the event of a power failure or disruptions to public communication networks.
Can NIKOS be installed quickly and flexibly for EXPO 2027 Belgrade?+
Yes. NIKOS was specifically developed for flexible outdoor applications without permanent infrastructure. The modules can be mounted by one or two people within just a few minutes on various structures such as streetlights, stages, stalls or trees, and configured individually. A standard Schuko power connection is sufficient for continuous operation. NIKOS uses an existing digital radio network.
Where do cost benefits arise when using evacuation announcements for EXPO 2027 Belgrade?+
Cost benefits result from reducing the need for separate loudspeaker, control and communication solutions. NIKOS enables different functions to be implemented via a single communication platform. These savings can quickly offset NIKOS’s rental and installation costs. You can find some specific examples of savings here. When the wide range of functions is used consistently, it often results not only in a higher level of safety and easier work for employees, but even in savings across the overall budget. NIKOS primarily reduces the effort required for separate loudspeaker, control and communication solutions. Material requirements and cabling work are reduced, while information and emergency announcements can be made from a single location. In addition, NIKOS can specifically replace personnel: tasks that would otherwise require several security, reporting or control stations distributed across the site can be handled from a single location through central announcements, remote control and status monitoring. This allows personnel to be saved or deployed more effectively at safety-critical points. In this way, rental and installation costs are offset by savings in personnel and other technology. This significantly reduces the costs of planning, setup and operation of safety technology, particularly at temporary, time-limited events.
Where can a system for evacuation announcements for EXPO 2027 Belgrade be rented?+
