NIKOS – Gedenkveranstaltung

PA system rental for events

autonomous reliable cost-effective

NIKOS is not a conventional PA system, but a radio-based public address, alarm and control system for large events, construction sites and crisis situations, which you can rent by the day through certified partners and either integrate into your PA or use on its own.

Challenge

Announcements even during power outages

Events involve particular challenges, including crowds, noisy surroundings and visitors who speak different languages. In high noise levels, warnings and instructions must be clearly understood by everyone. High visitor density can also quickly overload mobile networks. A power outage makes reliable communication even more difficult.

Solution

One unified solution for everyday use and emergencies

One platform for everything: NIKOS unites visitor information, alerting, crowd management and control in a single, network-independent system. NIKOS [dispatcher]² controls the announcement units for individual announcement locations, specific areas or the entire event site. This reduces the need for separate control devices and for staff to coordinate announcements at multiple locations. Centralized operation also reduces installation and operating effort.

FAQ

Information for planners and organisers

Do announcements made with NIKOS comply with the applicable standards?+
Yes. NIKOS meets the requirements of DIN EN 50849 (electroacoustic emergency warning systems). NIKOS was developed specifically for safety-relevant public address and alerting applications and is technically designed for use in both everyday and emergency situations. For electroacoustic emergency warning systems, DIN EN 50849 is the relevant reference framework. Unlike mobile network-based systems, NIKOS fully meets the requirements specified therein, as it does not depend on an external network and can therefore be used immediately at any time. Other standards known from safety technology, such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), do not apply to the field of use and functional scope of NIKOS and are therefore not relevant for approval. NIKOS is a public address system for temporary and mobile applications and has been successfully deployed in numerous mission-critical communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional NIKOS partner will be happy to advise you on the wide range of NIKOS functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively.
Does the PA system for events remain operational during a power or network outage?+
Yes, NIKOS operates via its own autonomous radio network and independently of public communication networks. NIKOS [audio]² has an internal battery with a runtime of up to 16 hours and also powers connected accessory modules. The radio connection is automatically re-established after an interruption. This means that PA systems for events remain reliably operational even if the power supply fails or public communication networks are disrupted.
Can a PA system for events be installed at short notice?+
Yes, NIKOS was specifically developed for flexible outdoor use without permanent infrastructure. The modules can be mounted by one or two people within a few minutes on various structures such as streetlights, stages, stalls or trees, and configured individually. A standard Schuko power connection is sufficient for continuous operation. NIKOS uses an existing digital radio network.
Where do PA systems for events provide cost benefits?+
Depending on the application, NIKOS can combine various functions on a single communications platform. These savings can quickly offset the rental and installation costs of NIKOS. You can find several specific examples of savings here. Consistent use of the wide range of functions not only increases the level of security and makes employees' work easier, but often also produces savings in the overall budget. NIKOS primarily reduces the effort required for separate loudspeaker, control and communication solutions. Material requirements and cabling effort are reduced, while information and emergency announcements can be made from a single location. NIKOS can also specifically replace staff: tasks that would otherwise require several security, reporting or operating posts distributed across the site can be handled from one location through central announcements, remote control and status monitoring. This allows staff to be reduced or deployed more effectively at safety-critical points. The greatest savings potential arises at fenced-off events, such as festivals or corporate events: monitoring emergency exit gates can be covered by technically monitoring the gates with NIKOS, eliminating security posts at emergency exits or allowing them to be deployed more effectively elsewhere. Rental and installation costs are therefore offset by savings in staffing and other technology. This significantly reduces the costs of planning, setup and operation of safety technology, particularly for temporary, time-limited events.
Where can you rent a PA system for events?+
NIKOS is rented by the day through certified partners, including consultation, instruction and technical support; inquiries are handled through the rental page. The PA system required for the event is planned there to suit the specific application. Find a partner and request a rental
