NIKOS is not a conventional PA system, but a radio-based public address, alarm and control system for large events, construction sites and crisis situations, which you can rent by the day through certified partners and either integrate into your PA or use on its own.
ChallengeThe Cologne Marathon follows a long, narrow route across the city. Safety-critical announcements must reach spectator areas, course marshals, as well as the start and finish areas clearly, even though these locations are far apart and have different information needs. Road closures and the opening of specific areas are time-critical because changes to the schedule must be communicated immediately to the affected sections of the route. In addition, the high density of visitors increases the strain on public communication networks.
Instead of multiple separate solutions:
unites visitor information, system monitoring, visitor guidance and control in a single network-independent platform. For events such as the Cologne Marathon, ![NIKOS [dispatcher]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS dispatcher.svg)
directs text-to-speech announcements specifically to individual announcement locations, defined sections of the route, or the start and finish areas. ![NIKOS [audio]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS audio.svg)
receives the voice transmission on site via radio and outputs it as an analogue audio signal; ![NIKOS [horn]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS horn.svg)
adds acoustic output at locations without an existing public address system. Quickly deployable, radio-based units support flexible coverage along the route.
meets the requirements of DIN EN 50849 (electroacoustic emergency warning systems). was developed specifically for safety-relevant public address and alerting applications and is technically designed for use in both everyday and emergency situations. For electroacoustic emergency warning systems, DIN EN 50849 is the relevant reference framework. Unlike mobile network-based systems, fully meets the requirements specified therein, as it does not depend on an external network and can therefore be used immediately at any time. Other standards known from safety technology, such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), do not apply to the field of use and functional scope of and are therefore not relevant for approval. is a public address system for temporary and mobile applications and has been successfully deployed in numerous mission-critical communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional partner will be happy to advise you on the wide range of functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively. can implement different functions through a single, unified communication platform. These savings can quickly offset the rental and installation costs of . You can find several specific examples of savings here. operates via its own autonomous radio network and is independent of public communication networks. has an internal battery with up to 16 hours of runtime and also powers connected accessory modules. This means that text-to-speech announcements for the Cologne Marathon remain reliably operational even in the event of a power failure or disruptions to public communication networks. was developed for flexible outdoor use without fixed infrastructure. One or two people can mount the modules on various structures, such as lampposts, stages, stands or trees, within just a few minutes and configure them individually. A standard Schuko power connection is sufficient for continuous operation. is rented by the day through certified partners, including advice, instruction and technical support.
