NIKOS is not a conventional PA system, but a radio-based public address, alarm and control system for large events, construction sites and crisis situations, which you can rent by the day through certified partners and either integrate into your PA or use on its own.
ChallengeAt the Civic Festival in Regensburg, dense crowds, a noisy environment and constantly changing visitor flows make visitor guidance more difficult. Safety instructions and directions must reach different event areas simultaneously and in an understandable manner. When visitor density is high, mobile networks become overloaded. Mobile-network-based communication channels are not available in a crisis.
Instead of multiple separate solutions:
unites visitor information, system monitoring, visitor guidance and control in a single network-independent platform. For visitor guidance at the Civic Festival, central operation via ![NIKOS [dispatcher]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS dispatcher.svg)
enables coordinated announcements, alerts and control functions. This reduces the effort required for separate communication and control technology, as well as for personnel who would otherwise have to be deployed at multiple locations.
is standard-compliant: the system meets DIN EN 50849 for electroacoustic emergency warning systems. was developed specifically for safety-relevant announcements and alerting — usable both in everyday operation and in an emergency. For ELA systems, DIN EN 50849 forms the decisive reference framework. Unlike mobile network-based systems, fully meets these requirements because it operates independently of an external network and is therefore immediately ready for use at any time. Other safety-related standards such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems) do not apply to , since they concern a different field of use and functional scope. As a public address system for temporary and mobile deployments, has already been used successfully many times for mission-critical communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional partner will be happy to advise you on the wide range of functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively. was developed for outdoor deployments without fixed infrastructure. The modules can be mounted and configured by one or two people within minutes on lampposts, stages, stands or trees. A Schuko power connection is sufficient for continuous operation. uses its own digital radio network. centrally switches off all connected PA systems at the touch of a button. This makes it easier to obtain official approval and helps prevent complaints from local residents. operates via its own autonomous radio network and independently of public communication networks and their availability. The system is resilient to external influences. Since does not depend on wired connections but communicates via radio, the connection is automatically re-established after an interruption. responds to disruptions in regular operation and ensures that communications remain suitable for crisis situations. ![NIKOS [audio]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS audio.svg)
has an internal battery with a runtime of up to 16 hours and also powers connected accessory modules. continues to function even if the mobile network is overloaded, the internet service provider fails or the power supply is interrupted.
