NIKOS is not a conventional PA system, but a radio-based public address, alarm and control system for large events, construction sites and crisis situations, which you can rent by the day through certified partners and either integrate into your PA or use on its own.
ChallengeLollapalooza Berlin combines high visitor density, amplified stage sound and constantly moving crowds. Service announcements, warnings and instructions must remain intelligible even when key areas are subject to significant acoustic strain. In the event of severe weather, overcrowding or an incident, time is also critical: visitors must be informed and guided quickly. At the same time, the mobile network cannot be relied upon when usage is high.
With
, announcements, system monitoring, visitor information and device control come together on a single platform — fully independent of the public network. Integrating existing PA infrastructure reduces the need for separate loudspeaker lines, long cable runs and additional control points. Recurring information and control tasks are managed from a single location via ![NIKOS [dispatcher]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS dispatcher.svg)
and monitored or executed by , reducing the need for decentralized control and security posts. ![NIKOS [relay]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS relay.svg)
switches external devices from the same user interface, thereby reducing material, installation and coordination costs.
fully meets DIN EN 50849 "Electroacoustic Emergency Warning Systems". The system was specifically designed for safety-relevant announcements and alerting and is technically built for both everyday and emergency use. DIN EN 50849 is the relevant standard for radio-based ELA systems such as . Because , unlike mobile network-based systems, operates independently of an external network, immediate usability is guaranteed at all times — fully meeting the standard's requirements as a result. Other safety-related standards such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), by contrast, do not apply to , as they concern a different field of use and functional scope and are therefore not relevant to 's deployment. As the only public address system for temporary and mobile applications consistently designed around the demands of mission-critical use, has been used successfully for crisis-proof communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional partner will be happy to advise you on the wide range of functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively. operates using its own autonomous communication network and remains independent of public networks. ![NIKOS [audio]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS audio.svg)
has an internal battery providing up to 16 hours of operating time and also powers connected accessory modules. This ensures that visitor information for Lollapalooza Berlin remains reliably available even in the event of a power failure or disruptions to public communication networks. was developed for flexible outdoor deployments without permanent infrastructure. One or two people can mount the modules on structures such as lampposts, stages, stands or trees within just a few minutes and configure them individually. A standard Schuko power connection is sufficient for continuous operation.![NIKOS [horn]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS horn.svg)
extends audio output to locations without an existing public address system. This also integrates paths, entrances, waiting areas and technical ancillary areas into the announcement infrastructure. Areas where visitors need to be informed or guided can therefore be covered selectively. is rented by the day through certified partners, including advice, instruction and technical support.
