NIKOS is not a conventional PA system, but a radio-based public address, alarm and control system for large events, construction sites and crisis situations, which you can rent by the day through certified partners and either integrate into your PA or use on its own.
ChallengeAt Tag der Niedersachsen in Hanover, stages, activity areas and visitor flows are spread across several parts of the city. Information is often needed simultaneously at different locations, for example when access routes change, temporary closures are imposed or safety-related information must be communicated. Over several days, visitor numbers and locations fluctuate significantly, so information must be delivered quickly, clearly and with the relevant area in mind. Public communication networks can quickly become overloaded when visitor density is high and are therefore unsuitable as the sole basis for safety-related visitor information.
Announcements, system monitoring, crowd management and device control come together with
in a single platform independent of the public network. ![NIKOS [dispatcher]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS dispatcher.svg)
can be used to address individual announcement locations, specific areas or the entire event site. On site, ![NIKOS [audio]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS audio.svg)
receives the voice transmission by radio and outputs it as an analogue audio signal via existing public address systems. ![NIKOS [horn]²](https://nikos.info/assets/logos/nikos/SVG/NIKOS horn.svg)
supplements the acoustic output at locations without an existing public address system, reducing the need for additional loudspeaker equipment, cable routes, staff routes and operator stations. This reduces the material, installation and operating effort required for a multi-day setup, without the need to maintain separate solutions for visitor information, alerting and control.
fully meets DIN EN 50849 "Electroacoustic Emergency Warning Systems". The system was specifically designed for safety-relevant announcements and alerting and is technically built for both everyday and emergency use. DIN EN 50849 is the relevant standard for radio-based ELA systems such as . Because , unlike mobile network-based systems, operates independently of an external network, immediate usability is guaranteed at all times — fully meeting the standard's requirements as a result. Other safety-related standards such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), by contrast, do not apply to , as they concern a different field of use and functional scope and are therefore not relevant to 's deployment. As the only public address system for temporary and mobile applications consistently designed around the demands of mission-critical use, has been used successfully for crisis-proof communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional partner will be happy to advise you on the wide range of functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively. can be used to implement different functions via a single, unified communication platform. These savings can quickly offset the rental and installation costs of . You can find some specific examples of savings here. mainly reduces the effort required for separate loudspeaker, control and communication solutions. Material requirements and cabling work are reduced, and information and emergency announcements can be made from a single location. Recurring tasks are centrally controlled and monitored or carried out by , reducing staffing requirements or allowing personnel to be deployed more effectively at safety-critical points. operates via its own autonomous radio network and independently of public communication networks. has an internal battery providing up to 16 hours of operating time and also powers connected accessory modules. This means that visitor information for Tag der Niedersachsen remains reliably operational even in the event of a power failure or disruptions to public communication networks. was developed for flexible outdoor use without fixed infrastructure. The modules can be mounted by one or two people within a few minutes on a range of structures such as lampposts, stages, stands or trees, and configured individually. A standard Schuko power outlet is sufficient for continuous operation. is rented by the day through certified partners, including advice, instruction and technical support.
