NIKOS – Landesfest

Visitor management for Sachsen-Anhalt Day 2028 in Aschersleben

autonomous reliable cost-effective

NIKOS is not a conventional PA system, but a radio-based public address, alarm and control system for large events, construction sites and crisis situations, which you can rent by the day through certified partners and either integrate into your PA or use on its own.

Challenge

Coordinate distributed stages and visitor areas over several days

At Sachsen-Anhalt Day 2028 in Aschersleben, stages, activity areas and visitor zones will be spread across different parts of the city over several days. Visitor numbers will fluctuate depending on the time of day, weather and programme, creating bottlenecks, waiting areas and routes that may need to be reorganised at short notice. For effective visitor management, it is crucial that safety-related announcements are clearly intelligible and can be heard precisely in the relevant areas. Temporary structures, changing closures and dense crowds make orientation even more difficult.

Solution

One unified solution for everyday use and emergencies

Instead of multiple separate solutions: NIKOS unites visitor information, system monitoring, visitor guidance and control in a single network-independent platform. With NIKOS [dispatcher]², individual announcement locations, specific areas or the entire site can be addressed; NIKOS [audio]² receives the voice transmission wirelessly on site and outputs it as an analogue audio signal. NIKOS [horn]² supplements the acoustic output at locations without an existing public address system, while NIKOS [LED]² provides emergency lighting in darkness. The quickly deployable, radio-based units reduce the need for separate loudspeaker systems, long cable runs, as well as staff travel, operating and security posts, because recurring tasks are controlled centrally and monitored or carried out by NIKOS.

FAQ

Information for planners and organisers

Do NIKOS announcements meet the relevant standard requirements?+
Yes, NIKOS fully meets DIN EN 50849 "Electroacoustic Emergency Warning Systems". The system was specifically designed for safety-relevant announcements and alerting and is technically built for both everyday and emergency use. DIN EN 50849 is the relevant standard for radio-based ELA systems such as NIKOS. Because NIKOS, unlike mobile network-based systems, operates independently of an external network, immediate usability is guaranteed at all times — fully meeting the standard's requirements as a result. Other safety-related standards such as DIN EN 54, DIN VDE 0833-4 and DIN 14675 (voice alarm systems), by contrast, do not apply to NIKOS, as they concern a different field of use and functional scope and are therefore not relevant to NIKOS's deployment. As the only public address system for temporary and mobile applications consistently designed around the demands of mission-critical use, NIKOS has been used successfully for crisis-proof communication tasks since 2017. RADACOM and your regional NIKOS partner will be happy to advise you on the wide range of NIKOS functions and support you in implementing the requirements cost-effectively.
Where does using NIKOS create cost savings?+
Depending on the application, NIKOS can implement various functions via a single, unified communication platform. The rental and installation costs of NIKOS can be quickly offset by these savings. You can find some specific examples of savings here. NIKOS mainly reduces the effort required for separate loudspeaker, control and communication solutions. Material requirements and cabling work are reduced, and information and emergency announcements can be made from a single location.
Is NIKOS resilient in a crisis?+
Yes. NIKOS operates via its own autonomous radio network and independently of public communications networks. As NIKOS does not rely on cable routes, the connection is automatically restored after an interruption. NIKOS [audio]² has an internal battery with up to 16 hours of runtime and also supplies connected accessory modules with power. This means visitor management for Sachsen-Anhalt Day 2028 remains reliably operational even in the event of a power failure or disruptions to public communications networks.
How can NIKOS be set up in a city centre without permanent infrastructure?+
NIKOS was specifically developed for flexible outdoor use without permanent infrastructure. One or two people can mount the modules on various structures, such as lampposts, stages, stands or trees, within just a few minutes and configure them individually. A standard Schuko power outlet is sufficient for continuous operation.
